The NVIDIA app is officially no longer in beta. Download now and experience it!

After a beta testing period since February, NVIDIA has officially released the NVIDIA app. This app combines the features of GeForce Experience and Control Panel in one, along with additional features to improve the user experience and reduce the hassle of configuring NVIDIA GPU settings. In the future, NVIDIA GPU users will be able to update drivers directly from this application.

The NVIDIA app also supports gameplay recording using the AV1 codec at 4K resolution and 120 frames per second, as well as certain NVIDIA AI-powered game filters. For example, the RTX HDR feature improves many games running on DX12, DX11, DX9 and Vulkan, providing enhanced gaming experiences with HDR effects.

More importantly, the NVIDIA app integrates features that were previously unavailable in GeForce Experience and could only be found in the Control Panel, such as: E.g., screen configuration, enabling/disabling G-Sync, adjusting advanced Optimus settings, and optimizing GPU performance. In the future, NVIDIA plans to integrate the remaining functions of the NVIDIA Control Panel into the NVIDIA app.

The NVIDIA app also fixes a key GeForce Experience issue: users no longer need to sign in to an NVIDIA account to access features or update drivers. After testing the Nvidia app in various beta versions over the past six months, anyone with a GeForce GPU is highly recommended to install it. Nvidia has constantly introduced new features and the more options it incorporates from the Control Panel, the more user-friendly the overall experience becomes.

The Nvidia app also improves on Nvidia's software, making it more comparable to AMD's Radeon software, which has provided an excellent app experience for quite some time. While Radeon software in the current version 1.0 still has a larger range of functions with all settings and functionalities, the Nvidia app still has a few gaps. Nevertheless, the essential functions are there and users can share their feedback with Nvidia on desired features or modifications.
